This blog was born one day in 2010, when the kids unexpectedly let me sit for five minutes and have a cup of tea. I've used blogging as an excuse to sit ever since. 

Where I come from is a complicated question. I tend to feel British while in America, and American while in Britain. At all times and in all places, I feel at least part Martian.
